General Website & Course Questions
Q: Some of my courses are showing up as incomplete, but I've taken and passed the quiz. What do I need to do to complete the course?
A: If a course is showing up as incomplete, it usually means that you have only finished the Head Matters section of the course, and still need to complete the Heart Matters section. Five of our ten courses have two sections:
Income
Money Management
Spending
Saving & Investing
Credit
To complete your courses, click the "Continue Course" link under the course name in the "Current Courses" area on the dashboard. From there you have two options:
-
Click on the tab with the heart icon, at the top of the course content box in the right navigation column on the far right side of the screen. That will take you to the course contents for the Heart Matters section. Click "Introduction" and then "Page 1." You are now at the start of the Heart Matters section. Proceed as you have for the Head Matters sections.
-
Click on the "RETURN TO QUIZ RESULTS" link at the bottom of the Head Matters course content area. Under the text on the Quiz Results page, there are two buttons, "Return to Dashboard" and "Next." Click the "Next" button to continue to the Heart Matters section of the course.

Q: I forgot my password, reset it, and now I can't log in. Help?
A: After you reset your password, you should have received an email with your new password. You have to manually type in your new password when you go to login. You cannot copy and paste the new password into the input field. The password is case sensitive.
If you are still having trouble logging in after manually typing in your password, please
contact us.

Q: When I try to click "Next" on a course, I get an error message. What's going on?
A: One possibility is that Java or Flash may be out of date on your computer. The Education Cents website uses Java and Flash programming, and having out of date Java or Flash browser plug-ins can create problems with the way you view the site. Plug-ins for both programs are free.
To update Java, go to
www.java.com. If you want to find out if you need to update Java,
To update Flash, go to
www.adobe.com.
This is often an issue for users who upgraded to Internet Explorer (IE) 9.0, but did not upgrade their Java at the same time. Check out
this article from Java for more information.
If updating Java and/or Flash does not resolve your issue, please
contact us.

Q. Can I use Education Cents outside of Colorado?
A: Yes! We are happy to allow nationwide, free access to the Education Cents website and online tools. However, as a division of the Colorado Department of Higher Education, we are not able to use state funds to provide materials outside of Colorado. The Education Cents website and all online materials are accessible nationwide because there is no incremental cost to the State of Colorado to allow nationwide use of our online resources. However, we do incur cost for printing and shipping our workbooks and need to recoup that small cost when we send our printed resources outside the state. Also, if you are interested in professional training outside of Colorado, we are happy to work with you to provide that, at your expense. Please
contact us regarding professional training or printed materials use outside of Colorado.
