CollegeInvest is a not-for-profit division of the Colorado Department of Higher Education. Since 1979, CollegeInvest has helped more than half a million families break down the financial barriers to college by providing expert information, simple planning tools, college savings plans, and scholarships.

As a self-supporting state enterprise, CollegeInvest does not receive taxpayer funding. The Colorado Department of Higher Education has oversight and management of the division. In addition, there is a nine-member Advisory Board of Directors appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the State Senate.
