CollegeInvest is a not-for-profit division of the Colorado Department of Higher Education. As such, our only goal is to help students get an education beyond high school.

CollegeInvest's mission is to address the challenges Coloradans face regarding both the affordability of and access to higher education. CollegeInvest was created by the State of Colorado in 1979. As Colorado's trusted college savings resource we provide tax advantaged 529 college savings plans, expert information, simple financial planning tools and scholarships to take education dollars as far as they can go.

CollegeInvest is a self-supporting state enterprise and does not receive taxpayer funding. The Colorado Department of Higher Education has oversight and management responsibilities over the division. In addition, there is a nine-member Advisory Board of Directors appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the State Senate. (Board Meetings Schedule)
